Key Point creates a website design by working with your team to learn about your advertising program, product design, logo, current website, projected content, perceived audience and future plans for the sitef.  Additionally, we will work with hyour advertising and public relations agencies to assure your website communicates effectively and has a look and feel in harmony with your other marketing investments.

Web Design Composites
Our design team will present composites of the planned design. These are simply electronic pictures (Adobe Photoshop files) that provide a way for you and your staff to work with the website designers to initiate, adjust and finalize a design. Your composites communicate an accurate picture of what the site will look like, the colors, style and the navigation that is to be developed. In some cases, your website will include Flash movies. To communicate ideas for Flash movies we create storyboards (multiple frames of the movie) that helps us communicate our intended design.

Website Text Style and Content Imagery
Creative communication of your message in text and graphics also requires harmony and focus. Choosing the right font styles, colors and sizes blended with graphic pictures has proven to significantly improve both comprehension and interest in your website. Styles can include table layout, list properties, and page title. Picture graphics can include charts, photographs and splash graphics (picture composites) which illustrate and support the web page topic.

Web Navigation Design
If only you could find the data you want on a website! How you set up navigation will significantly impact your website's success. Key Point works with your team to determine how your web users are expected to use the data on the site. The content and how it is used provide the basis for your web navigation scheme. The navigation design is typically reinforced with scripting technology (JavaScript and Dynamic HTML) that will highlight a button or link when your users have “moused over” it, indicating the page or section they are currently viewing, or drop-down menus which gives an expanded look at the contents of the site.

HTML Web Templates Present Your Design
Web templates are a set of HTML files that execute the final design, content organization and navigation for your website. These templates are used to build your website and to make any future additions or changes to your site. The quality of this HTML foundation is critical to the maintenance and scalability of your web design. When the templates are created, Key Point factors in:

  • Compatibility with popular browsers brands and revisions.
  • Future maintenance of your web. You should be able to make changes to the web template structure without editing all the pages.
  • Standard use of HTML 4.0 to assure compatibility.
  • Created in the HTML development tool of your choice. Our most popular choices are Macromedia's DreamWeaver, Microsoft FrontPage, and Allaire's Homesite.
  • Dynamic HTML or JavaScript for animation of navigation and qualification of important HTML Forms. Some navigation designs will be optional.
  • Quality assurance process on Macs, PC’s and UNIX workstations.
  • Physical folder design of your website.
  • Presentation on screen and in print.
  • The installation of Optional Flash movies as appropriate.
  • Compressed web images with appropriate web performance.

Web Graphics
All pictures are initially created and integrated with your design using the Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator applications. Once they have been developed, they are exported using the best web file format to display effectively in a browser.

You may choose to implement Splash Graphics on more important pages to support the message of the page. Splash Graphics are formulated using multiple stock pictures and custom text and images. Splash Graphics inhance the message of a web page by communicating the message visually.

Optional Photoshop Files in Full Page Format
All your graphics are stored on a Photoshop file type in full-page format. This provides a simple and effective means to store the graphics and keep them updated as changes are made. Key Point provides you with this Photoshop file upon your request for a media and integration charge. The files have graphic guides set to show you specifically the export size of the website graphic components. In some cases, customers require individual Photoshop files for each and every image on a site.

Please ask your sales representative about this option.
